The Université de Lorraine has been admitted in September 2020 to the European Forest Institute, joining INRAE, AgroParisTech, ONF, ECOFOR and FCBA as French Associate Members. The European Forest Institute (EFI) is an international organization, established by European States. Twenty-Nine European countries have ratified the Convention on EFI and the institute now involves 131 Associate and Affiliate Member organizations representing 40 countries. EFI conducts research around three complementary, interdisciplinary themes: Governance, Bioeconomy and Resilience. It promotes the networking of actors in the forestry sector as well as the dissemination of knowledge and aims to provide support and expertise on forests issues for European policy makers.
