Carnot ICÉEL presentation (Jérôme Sterpenich & Cécile Raphoz)

The Director of Carnot ICEEL explains that the Carnot label has existed for over 15 years. It is awarded by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research and is managed at the financial level by the ANR. The objective is to improve academic research and the socio-economic world. Since its creation, 3500 projects have been developed for an amount of 150 million euros and 470 contracts with research partners ( 10 million euros) and a turnover of 35 million euros. 1.6 million next year, 80% of which will be reinjected into the laboratories following an annual call for projects. In 2027, this contribution should reach 2.5 million euros.

Libio is already part of Carnot ICEEL. The director of Libio says that this allows a real return on investment and allows the development of projects upstream. In 2023, the Carnot ICEEL must transmit the application file (evaluation every 5 years). It remains to be seen which other laboratories in the A2F cluster could join the Carnot. Internal reflection for each laboratory knowing that the deadline is set for October/November to transmit the data to the Carnot director. Jérôme Sterpenich stated that the Bioeconomy theme will develop significantly in the coming years.
